Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work for the most vulnerable in our community, the American Dream Recovery Foundation was formed as a charitable organization to provide housing and vehicle assistance for those in need. From repairs to replacement, our team stands at the ready to help families restore their lives and dignity when home disaster strikes. We’ve consistently grown since our formation, all thanks to the helping hands and loving financial support of this amazing community!

Founders

CHARLES RASHID,CO-FOUNDER
Charles Rashid is a well-established, successful businessman, husband and father of two beautiful daughters. As a graduate of WVU and lifelong resident of Charleston, West Virginia, Charles has a long history of building businesses, creating jobs and contributing to his community.
He currently owns and multiple businesses which include car dealerships, metal roofing manufacturing plants and real estate investments both commercial and residential.
Charles serves on numerous boards offering time and expertise to a variety of business and charitable causes. He understands the needs of people and the supporting role of business in the community.
As one of the co-founders of the American Dream Recovery Foundation, Charles has taken his philanthropic endeavors to new heights, directly reaching those who have suffered damage or loss of home or vehicle. There is nothing more important to Charles than the security of home and freedom of transportation, both of which are essential to healthy, productive families. He is committed to helping as many people as he can to recover, rebuild and restore these basic necessities without fear and undue hardship.

JOHN BLAKER,CO-FOUNDER
John G. Blaker is the Founder and President of American Roofing Products, a manufacturer of metal roofing and associated products. The company is based in Charleston, West Virginia and has a second location in Columbia, South Carolina.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, John accepted a senior management role at Gillette where he gained great corporate experience working with Procter & Gamble, Home Depot and Wal-Mart just to name a few. After seven years with Gillette, John was recruited by FOX television where he dealt primarily with large regional advertising clients and marketing agencies.
He brings this business experience and his unique entrepreneurial skills to the leadership of The American Dream Recovery Foundation. Being in the roofing business and seeing how people react when their homes are restored inspired John to co-found The American Dream Foundation, so he could bring this sense of pride and security to less fortunate families. John’s love for philanthropy and desire to help people is shared by his wife and their three children residing in Hurricane, West Virginia.
